The uses of Vedic Mathematics are very broad. Sixteen Sutras and thirteen sub-Sutras can be applied to all walks of mathematics. Research shows its application in Fast Calculations (multiplication, division, Squaring, Cubing, Square Root, Cube Root), trigonometry, three-dimensional coordinate geometry, solution of plane and spherical triangles, linear and non-linear differential equations, matrices and determinants, log and exponential. The most interesting point is to note that the Vedic Mathematics provides unique solutions in several instances where trial and error method is available at present.
General
Feeling of a student who learned Vedic Mathematics
Long back I read an article in Hinduatan Times which said, "Mathematics can govern life". Those words enhanced my interest in mathematics but I was in search of something which can really prove those words right. I heard of Vedic Mathematics from a friend at my institute and got in touch of Mr. Pradeep Kumar an IIM alumnus who is trying to popularise the concept by simplifying it. He explained me the techniques of Vedic Mathematics. My attitude of looking at problems like square root, cube root, higher order multiplication changed dramatically. Now finding a cube root is child's play for me. If Vedic Math can enhance my efficiency to this extent then definitely it can help a lot of students in this competitive world.

Where Vedic Math can help the Board Examinee: Xth Class
It has been proved by research that the students knowing all the steps clearly fail to secure good marks due to silly mistakes in calculation. Vedic Mathematics provides the student with tried and tested method of solving problems where chances of doing silly mistakes are minimized. Students knowing Vedic Math will be able to crosscheck the answers mentally and will be able to avoid the trap. Student will be able to solve their Math paper in much less than the allocated time because of this being ten times faster than the conventional method.
This can be used for:
- Mental crosscheck of the answers.
- For finding Square & Cubes of any given number mentally.
- For finding Square Roots & Cube Roots of numbers mentally.
- In Mensuration Calculation of area & volume.
- Decimal and non-Decimal multiplication.
- Decimal and non-decimal division.
- Comparison between two rational numbers.
- Factorization
- Simultaneous equation.
- Finding HCF & LCM without much effort.
- Solving Algebra problem
- Solving Trigonometry problems.
- Multiplication without converting two different quantity into single unit Ex: 3' 7" * 4' 9"

This is the experience of Mathematics teachers that students having Mathematics or Statistics secure fewer marks due to unfinished calculation. In a 6 marks problem students are able to secure 2, 3 or 4 marks because they do not finish the calculation. They put all the values in the formula but are not able to write the final results. Examples: Regression, Correlation, G.P, Binomial Theorem etc.
What prohibits them to write the final results? Its nothing but long calculation, which involves squaring, cubing, multiplication and division and calculators are not allowed. Vedic Mathematics can help students here.
